Prior to Attending Any Practice / Tryouts, the Mavs Coaching Staff will employ the following rules, regulations / confirmations to ensure each individuals and overall team’s health and safety:
1. Each player must check his/her temperature at home and cannot attend if they have a fever ≥ 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Provide verbal confirmation that the player has not had any close contact with a sick individual or anyone with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
3. The player and/or immediate family members have not had a documented case of
COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
4. The player is not currently demonstrating or suffering from any symptoms.
5. The player is not showing any general illness symptoms.
Procedures for tryouts for the Mavs at St. Raphael
1. Parent and player can meet a member of the Mavs coaching staff outside the gym to complete general forms, while wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
2. Players can then enter the hallway area, and if need wait in the cafeteria where there is proper space to socially distance before heading into the gym. As one group enters one set of doors, the group leaving the gym will exit the other.
3. Unfortunately, in order to stay within the allowable numbers of indoor use, parents will NOT be allowed to be inside during tryouts. We know this is tough! We will take care of them! Parents are welcome to wait in the parking lot.
4. Coaches are responsible for taking players temperature before every practice and cannot attend if a fever greater than or equal to 100.4F exists.
5. The bleachers and other non-playing surfaces will not be used during practice/tryouts.
6. If you have your own ball it is encouraged to bring it with you. Coaches will have balls, and will disinfect them between use if needed.
7. It is recommended that each player will brings their own hand sanitizer and water bottle and that these items are not shared with others.
8. All coaches will wear masks during all practices.
9. Masks are optional for players.
